Jax the Rat

Tonight we have sad news to deliver. Jax the rat passed away. Jax arrived a little over 4 months ago in severe respiratory distress. he was open mouthed breathing and lethargic/limp. His previous owner was unable to afford vet care for him. After multiple vet visits, antibiotics, nebulizing and humidifier treatments, Jax improved. He was only able to improve to a certain degree. The vet let us know that due to being left untreated for too long before he arrived at SP-BH , his lungs were left scarred. His quality of life was still good, he had energy, an appetite and loved attention. We continued his treatment for the four months. He was a strong little boy. We will miss his love and tiny kisses.
