Butters is gone

We were able to get Butterscotch in to see dr.Fijas first thing this morning, and we found that he developed severe pneumonia. Ray took him since I was scheduled for work and he had the day off. He was prescribed some antibiotics, and Ray gave him some as soon as he got home with Butters. I am afraid that Butterscotch had already passed when I got home from work. I knew that he had left us when I approached his cage, he was laying on his side, something he never really did. I am afraid he got too ill , too suddenly, and at his age couldn't fight it. He really was dear to my heart, his spirit and loving gentle nature.. I couldn't help but fall in love with him. I cannot believe he is gone...
