a little less than a month ago we were given (dumped) a litter of unwanted hamster babies. There were four of them and I could tell by their size that they were already old enough to be sexually mature. After inspection there were 2 females and 2 males and I separated them immediately, but knew that I would have to keep a good eye on the 2 girls. Sure enough, one of the girls gave birth to 7 babies last night. it is too soon to take any pictures of them. I also have a close eye on the other girl.
Some good news too, Jade ate much better today. She ate quite a bit of her canned food, she only left some crumbs. plus I gave her a few morsels of the steak we had tonight. She deserves such a treat.

Wow more hamsters thats alot of work isnt it? They must be awfully cute though. It makes your job harder trying to find new homes for all of them. I'd just like to say keep up the good work and i hope jade gets better soon.

More hamsters mainly means more cages to clean once they are old enough and need to have their own cage. Sometimes hamsters find homes quickly, and then some hamster stay with us for the duration of their life, this is their home. It mainly depends on their personality and temperment. Most nippy and cranky hamsters wind up not getting adopted and staying here. But the friendly ones normally always are adopted out.
I'll let Jade know ;) Although her illness ( kidney disease) is terminal, she won't be getting better no matter what we do. It is very sad and frustrating we want so much to help her and make her better. All we can do is hope that she has days where she feels better and comfortable. She likes to sit on the window in front of our house, a passerby , walking by, was admiring her and he told us how much he likes her. Many people love and like Jade, she is a very special cat and is loved dearly.
Im sure Jade will have a comfortable life with you i dont know any one better who can give her a better life. :)
