cancer and neutering

Kodiak and the 3 sugar gliders went to see Dr.T today.
The sugar gliders did really well, they are all perfectly healthy. Rollo, the boy, does have a bit of an attitude problem. He's very cranky. Dr.T suggested a neutering, this may help calm him down, plus he won't contribute in any way to making more sugar gliders. he is scheduled on August 20th for a neutering.
Kodiak the ferret, isn't doing quite so well. All his lymph nodes are effected and cancerous. After listening to his lungs Dr.T is more than certain that it has traveled to his chest. There are lymph nodes located there. He explained to me that he is struggling more to breathe, and his heart is working overtime to try and keep his blood oxygenated. Also, the lymph nodes on his neck could swell to the point where his esophagus becomes pressed in, which will ultimately strangle poor Kodiak. Presently, Kodiak is still curious and energetic, he played with Americana in our living room today and he explored every nook and cranny. He is also eating well. His quality of life is still okay. I am afraid , though, that it won't be long before the cancer takes him over :(
Jade is also declining. She isn't eating as well. The past couple of days she has only eaten a couple of mouthfuls of her canned food, whereas, before, she ate it all up, now she leaves a lot untouched. We had visitors today, Lisa and her niece, Jade still greeted them at the door and loved the attention she received. I tried a different flavor of food today, hoping it would entice her to eat more, but she didn't. I'll update everyone on how she is doing each day, and Kodiak too.
